Our one-of-a-kind wooden postcard series highlight some of Detroit’s most iconic landmarks. Located in the heart of Detroit’s Mid-Town, The Garden Bowl which originally opened in 1913 is the countries longest running bowling alley to still be in operation. The reclaimed wood that this image is printed on is the perfect way to display this historic building. The large size is 10 x 5 ¾ and the small version is 6 x 3 ½.
All of our products are handcrafted from wood that has already served a lifetime of use and each piece comes with an address indicating where the materials were sourced from.
The wood used to make this postcard was properly deconstructed from the former manufacturing warehouse was located at 421 Chene in Detroit’s East River Front District. It was built in 1882 and was a flaking mill for the Lauhoff Corporation which specialized in the production of breakfast cereals.
